A 48-year-elderly person, Joshua Oki, on Monday, showed up before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo for posting on Facebook, pictures and words maligning the Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye.

The litigant, who was captured by the agents of Department of State Services, showed up before Magistrate Modupe Awodele.

Tending to the court, the Prosecutor, B.O. Nweke clarified that Oki submitted the offense on Friday, June 19, 2020, in Osogbo.

As indicated by him, the presume utilized the alias, “Oki”.

Nweke said the litigant realized that the photos and words posted were false and against the Speaker yet he despite everything proceeded to post the materials.

The offenses carried out were supposed to be in opposition to Sections 374(1)b, just as 374 and culpable under Section 375 of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol. 2 Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

Oki argued not blameworthy to the two-check verging on maligning of character leveled against him.

His insight, Ibraheem Imran, encouraged the court to submit the respondent to bail.

Administering on the application, Magistrate Awodele submitted the litigant to bail in the entirety of N100,000 with two guarantees.

She at that point suspended the issue to July 14, 2020, for hearing.
